What is VoIP?
VoIP (short for Voice over IP) or IP Telefonie means Internet telephony and thus the Telefonieren over the Internet connection. In the process, telephones are no longer plugged in via telephone sockets, splitters or ISDN boxes, but via your DSL router or a VoIP-enabled cable modem. Using one and the same phone number, you can also make calls from your PC or smartphone so that no additional hardware is needed.
Thanks to countless advantages of VoIP telephony, the ISDN network will be completely shut down in the coming years and the All-IP conversion will advance the development of a future-proof network.
Cloud and SIP telephony
Nevertheless, an existing ISDN telephone system does not have to be replaced by a new VoIP telephone system, but can either be connected to the All-IP network by means of a SIP-PBX system connection or linked to a cloud telephone system. In the case of cloud telephony, ISDN functions such as "hold" or "busy" are still retained and new functions such as unified communications are available to you. Maintaining and maintaining your virtual PBX is the responsibility of your provider, saving you time and money. You can access your telephone system from any device, regardless of location, for maximum flexibility.
